Devuniki Stothramu! (Praise the Lord!)

Hello, I am Pastor Lazarus Dharavath from Suryapet in the state of Andhra Pradesh in south India.

I am working as an Evangelist in south India among the Banjara (Indian Gypsy) tribes. Most of these people are very poor idol-worshipers and drunkards. Due to their depressed economic condition and the dowry system in our country, they are not giving good care to the female children. In fact, some of them are actually killing or discarding female babies. The immediate physical and spiritual condition of the girls is at high-risk, and their future is dismal.

As my wife and I are descended from Banjara tribal idol-worshipers, we feel a special burden and kinship with the Banjara people. And as God blessed our family, we started the Banjara Children's Home in 2003 for orphaned, abandoned or fatherless Gypsy children — a safe, clean, and nurturing environment where, by the grace of God, all of their physical needs are met. More than that, however, the children are receiving a proper education, and they are growing strong in the good knowledge of the Lord!

But there remain hundreds of abandoned, abused, and misused children in our area who need help. We are praying to God to speak to people's hearts to partner with us in our rescue efforts to bring more "street" children to our home.

Recently, we have been further blessed to place our children's home under the direction of Miss Ellie's Ministries, a U.S.-based ministry with a heart to rescue and bless orphans, street and dump children, and destitute children.

In addition to the newly-renamed Miss Ellie's Home for Banjara Children, we have a house church in our home and we pastor three other churches among the Banjara tribes. We also have 15 young Banjara pastors who minister with us and who need financial support.

Miku Wandanalu! Thank you! Miku Wandanalu! Thank You for your interest in our ministry. May God grant you His perfect peace and shower you with His abundant blessings and grace in Cristu Yesu!
